I'm really going to start this blogging thing. I think. There have been a lot of changes going on in my life recently! I've fallen in love with my major even more ever since taking my advanced multimedia class in the Center for the Arts. I've found my new favorite place a.k.a. the studio/control room! I got to go up and anchor there and it felt AWESOME. I love broadcast journalism, I can't imagine any other career goal anymore.
I've also been doing beat reporting in AMR on museums and cultural initiatives, which has been pretty awesome. I did packages on the new Alexander Black House and Tech-or-Treat, which I'll post below. Both were SO COOL and fun to edit.
Finally...got the best and biggest news EVER today! I'm going to intern at WSLS 10 next semester! I checked my email in AMR and couldn't contain my excitement. Literally. I was bouncing up and down in my chair and let out a squeal. But when I told my teacher and class they congratulated me and clapped. They know what's up. I'm ecstatic. I've always been a big believer in turning your dreams into a reality, and I'm actually doing it! I'm finally going to get real life experience in my dream career. Unbelieveable. I'm also hoping that they can help me with my reel and give me tips on how to get a job. I really want this job in Texas because it seems PERFECT for me. It an entry level reporter/producer position, which is so perfect for me! I'm going to build up my reel and cross my fingers that it will still be available mid-spring semester.
Until next time,
Sara
